Our next video focuses on Outsourcing and specifically medical tourism. We shine a bright light on the industry and hold no punches. In India, the most common treatments are heart surgery, cosmetic surgery, knee transplant and dental surgery. India is a favorable destination because its medical infrastructure and technology is on par with those in the USA and Europe.
Click to See Above Video As health care costs skyrocket, patients in the developed world are looking overseas for medical treatment. India is capitalizing on its low costs and highly trained doctors to appeal to these "medical tourists." Even with airfare, the cost of going to India for surgery can be markedly cheaper, and the quality of services is often better than that found in the United States and UK. Indeed, many patients are pleased at the prospect of combining their tummy tucks with a trip to the Taj Mahal. - YaleGlobal Embed this videoMonday, January 7, 2008

Well, it was a bit funny, but turning tables I want to tell you that there are three Americans living in Bombay (Mumbai), who are running their own company in India called America's Medical Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and found at www.americasmedicalsolutions.com or AMS for short.
It is said that "birds of a feather flock together," and that's true whether Indians are living in the west or whether Americans are living in India. But these Americans are holding western hands flocking to India for all kinds of medical care.
The best thing is that AMS doesn't charge for their concierge services. Not a red cent! The doctors, hospitals and clinics in India have found it's advantageous to them to have AMS's help with western patients so they pay AMS's fees. Pretty neat, eh?
Western patients love them because they understand how important that McDonald's burger might be or even a Hard Rock Cafe burger. Know what I mean? And I have known AMS people to run these kinds of errands. Again, the cost is only the price of the sandwich. :) Plus you get to use a mobile phone while you're there and you can contact them day or night.
I know one person (ahem, me!) who would crawl back to India if it were necessary to have the latest and best medical services performed on me. After all, I've tasted three different procedures and they might be matched, but they can't be beat in terms of world-class services, accommodations and price.
