Wal-Mart at this moment of time is the world's biggest retailer, with 6,500 stores in 15 countries and 1.8 million employees.

Alice Louise Walton, the Wal-Mart heiress is the third richest woman in the world. Daughter of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and Helen Walton, Alice has an estimated net worth of about $19 billion. According to media reports, she was the 20th biggest individual contributor to 527 committees in the US presidential election in 2004. Alice loves art; she once paid $35 million for a painting.
